Pistols Firing!!!

Well, week 1 of football has come & gone... It was great to be back in a football stadium! Home Sweet Home for Trey! My man loves him some football! It's an obsession. Not that I mind... I have always liked football, but being with Trey for the past 12 years, I have grown to love it too. Since I met Trey (way back in 1998!), rarely have I missed a Tuttle game. And Friday night was no exception. Oh, the game was not good. We got beat by Cache. It's time for a little redemption this coming week! Newcastle comes to town!

I just got a pic of me & Maj at the game. This would be after he fell on the concrete bleachers & skinned his elbow. His good buddy Marshal gave him some oreos to cheer him up after the fall, and I gave him some skittles to help as well. His mouth is filthy! He was a little disappointed that he didn't get to catch a football from the cheerleaders. After the 1st touchdown, this is how the convo went:
MKS: "Why did they only throw the football out once?"
Me: They only throw them when they score a touchdown."
MKS: "Well they scored 6 times, but only through the football out once!"
This would then be the lesson of 1 touchdown=6 points! Maybe the cheerleaders will have plenty of times to throw them next weekend.
Back in Stillwater!!! Trey and I, David and Christel, and Justin and Heather all rode together to the game. Great game & tons of fun!

So, our neighborhood is pretty divided on OSU/OU. All of the Sooner fans had a party at Chad & Kristy's house so we decided to go over there after we got home. Kristy has decided to call herself a "Pooner" (Pokes & Sooner fan), and claims she is going to try to learn a little about football this year! She is trying & I love her for that!:) Us girls managed to take 5 pics, but there isn't 1 that we are all looking at the same camera!

I couldn't leave out this one of David. Check out those muscles!!! He had on Christel's shirt for the game, and I couldn't help but give him a hard time about it!
The weekend has come to an end, but thank goodness for Labor Day! I am extremely excited about this 4 day week! Trey and I had a DATE tonight. We rarely go on dates. We may go on dates, but it's usually with other couples. It was just me & the hubby tonight. I wanted to go see "Takers" basically because of the cast! It was good, but not going to win an Oscar. Paul Walker...enough said! Hope everyone has a good week!

It's football season!!!

Tomorrow kicks off football season for us! Junior High game on Thursday, Tuttle plays Cache on Friday, then it's off to Stillwater on Saturday for the Cowboys!!! I love this time of year. One of my favorite things is "Meet your Tiger." Tuttle does this every year... it's at the football field, and they introduce JH through HS football players, cheerleaders, softball girls, Cross Country, and the band. The 9th grade through Seniors all have to do something when they are introduced. They do cart wheels, or a little dance, or some do a little skit. Some are so funny. I'm always anxious to see what new things the boys will do. Major loves this night because he gets to run around on the football field.

Here is Maj & Coby...I can't believe he is in 7th grade. He was in my class in 2nd grade the 1st year I started at Tuttle.

Future Tigers!
Maj & the Koons boys...
Hope everybody's team wins this weekend!

1st Day of School!

We have been back in school for 2 weeks now...but I am just now having time to sit down at the computer. I wasn't able to be there for the 1st day, but Dad took care of all the pictures. Trey dropped him off the 1st day and he rode the bus over to my building at the end of the day. The highlights of his day are
1. Riding the white van to school. (He goes to TLC in the morning & they drop him off at PreK.)
2. Riding the yellow bus to my building after school. (He says that riding in a car would be boring!)
I love seeing all of his papers that he brings home everyday. This week, the kids are doing colors. He has to wear a different color of clothing everyday, so every night me & MR. PICKY pick out what he is going to wear the next day. He has always HATED pink, but next week is pink day, and so far he has agreed to wear it. We'll see when that day gets here!
On Fridays, his folder comes home with all of his work from that week. If he has a good folder then he gets to buy candy at the office. Candy is such a great negotiator with my child! That's about all so far... I am just so glad that he enjoys it.
Here are a few pics of the 1st day...

"Meet Your Teacher"

So the time has come! Even as I sit here and type this, I get a little teary... and I said that I wouldn't! (But everyone knows I'm the biggest cry baby on earth!) The 1st day of school is tomorrow! The Maj has sooooo many questions!!! He is super excited, and I am too, but I just can't believe the day has finally come. I'm anxious to see what & how he learns, what new friends he makes, how he handles different situations- all the things that Trey & I have tried to prepare him for.
Tuesday night was "Meet Your Teacher" night. The kids meet their teacher & drop off school supplies. Major's teacher is Mrs. DeWitt and we couldn't be more thrilled! (She actually lives next door to us too!) I didn't get to go with Maj to this because I had to be in my room to meet my new kiddos for the year. Both sets of grandparents came along! Since I probably won't get to make it to very many of his parties, Nano & Nene will have to cover for me!
So I am off to bed early tonight. Bed time is the one thing that I know Major is going to struggle with. He is such a night owl like Trey. Me, on the other hand, I NEED MY SLEEP! . Class only lasts an hour tomorrow while the parents have a meeting. Friday will be his 1st full day. Wish us luck tomorrow...this momma needs to stay dry-eyed, and I pray that Major loves school and has a great experience!

Getting ready for Pre-K!

I cannot believe it's actually time for my lil' man to start school. We could have started him last year, but we decided to wait another year. So, the time has come! Last Thursday, Maj had his Pre-K screening. Mrs. Michaud said he did great, and he is really excited about starting school. On Friday, we got a few things done...like a haircut, and finding the perfect coloring book that the school supply list called for.

Pre-K screening
Having lunch!
Got a new do for school!
After 4 different stores, he finally decided on these coloring books!

Boys will be boys!

Here is what Maj & Kason were up to today...

They got ALL of the blankets out & made forts all over Maj's room. I'm not sure I will get everything back in it's place, but I also think it will be a great opportunity for me to go through all of his stuff and get rid of a lot of toys that haven't been touched in quite a while! He wants to put a mattress on the trundle part of his bed, but I told him in order to do that we have to get rid of the toys! He says it's ok, so I think that will be my project tomorrow! Yea for de-cluttering!

Corben is staying the night tonight for the 1st time! They usually stay @ Corben's, but we are changing things up tonight! Hopefully me & Daddy will get some sleep! :)
Sweet Dreams!

Summer is almost over :(

I cannot believe it is almost time to go back to school! We have had an awesome summer, but sadly, it's almost over. We decided to make it down to Texhoma since it's been awhile. Before we left last Wednesday, we went to the water park at Norman. The Rackley's & McKee's went, and Will & Kate were in town so Nano brought them too. We got there a little too early, so we played at Heitz's playground until the park opened. Major had a good 'ole time on the slides & diving boards.

We left for Texhoma as soon as we got home from swimming. Colt came along for his first lake trip! Oh...let me back up! I still haven't blogged about Mr. Colt yet! (Yes, we live in OK, but we love us some Texas football! We already have a Major, so why not have a Colt too?!?) We have had Colt for about 2 weeks now. He has been such a good dog! I hope I don't have to eat my words later, but he has been no trouble at all! So anyways, We finally made it to the lake! Maj fished, skipped rocks, swam, tubed, & rode his 4wheeler. We even got to go to our fav restaurant- Platters! Boy have I missed that fish & sweet tea! So, now we are down to one more week of summer... Maj has his Pre-K screening in the morning. I've got to finish my room at school & then it's back to work!
